Contortum is a 80 page publication conceptualised, developed and designed by me for a project brief during my degree at BA Fashion Communication, Northumbria University. All photography, graphic design and art is my own.
Contortum is a mixed-medium, visual collection of the editorially obscure and unusual. A captivating look at the unconventionally beautiful. It is an editorial published curation of fashion photography and visuals that make you look twice.
For this project I took a lot of inspiration from Alexander McQueen and his approach to conceptual fashion, storytelling and obscurity. I was most inspired by this quote from Alexander McQueen when discussing his infamous catwalk shows -
"I don't want you to walk out feeling you've just had Sunday lunch. I want you to be repulsed or exhilarated. As long as it's an emotion."
